The training was conducted for staff of the parliament concerning examination of financial impact of the bills

As part of the effective implementation of legislative activities by the Parliament, to further refine the examination of financial impact of the bills mechanism and to facilitate its implementation in practice, in particular, in order to strengthen the capacity of the staff of the Parliamentary Committees to compile a part of financial justification of the explanatory memorandum of the bills, on September 29-30, the Training Center of the Parliament of Georgia conducted a remote training on the topic: "Guiding principles of examination of financial impact of the bills".
The training was led by Shorena Kakhidze, Acting Head of the Parliamentary Budget Office of Georgia.
During the training, the role and approach of the Parliamentary Budget Office in the legislative process and its legal basis were discussed; the structure of the financial justification of the explanatory memorandum; the basic principles of assessing the financial impact of the bills in the medium term, the main aspects of the recommended methodology of the preparation of the financial justification for the explanatory memorandum of the bills developed by the Parliamentary Budget Office were also discussed.
